Do I have to re-select the area every time?
No. The app remembers your screen coordinates. Once set, you simply hit the hotkey for instant results.
What if I move my trading platform window?
Since the app uses fixed coordinates for speed, you just click "Select Region" to quickly re-sync to a new position if you move your charts.
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored locally on your machine. We never upload your images or trade data to the cloud.
How is this better than using the standard Windows Snipping Tool?
The Windows Snipping Tool requires manual dragging and saving for every image. Chart Snipper Pro automates the entire trading journal workflow by locking onto your charts, naming files via OCR, and sorting them into ticker folders instantly.
Is the Timeline Viewer included in the Snipper download?
No. The Timeline Viewer is a separate companion download. While it is free for Chart Snipper Pro users, you must download and install it individually to connect it to your capture library.
Why does Windows show a "SmartScreen" warning during install?
Because Chart Snipper Pro is a new utility from an independent developer, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. This is normal for fresh software that hasn’t yet built a reputation with Microsoft’s automated systems.

Where does the app go when I close the window?
To keep your workspace clean, the app minimizes to the Windows System Tray (bottom right, near the clock). It stays active in the background so your hotkeys always work instantly.
Will this software cause lag in my execution platform?
No. We built this for active day traders. The app uses a low-latency capture engine designed to run alongside memory-intensive platforms like Sterling, DAS, or ThinkorSwim without impacting your order execution speed.
